My unique approach is to evaluate any underlying systemic cause for psychiatric symptoms. Systemic causes can be due to hormonal imbalances, nutrient deficiencies, or the effect of toxic metals. It is best to treat these underlying conditions before resorting to psychotropic medications. RESPONSIBLE CARE
People have many problems such as ADD, Depression, Anxiety, Panic Disorder, PTSD, Sleep Problems, Drug and Alcohol Addiction, OCD. During your first visit, Dr. Schuder gathers information about your symptoms and does a focus physical exam. This is not usually taken into account on psychiatric or medical work-ups. A diagnosis (especially thyroid) should be made based on a comprehensive history and physical exam. Laboratory blood tests are done to corroborate the diagnosis and elucidate the particulars of a person's problem.My patients have a great level of success with simply regulating naturally occurring hormones, or taking supplements for nutrients the body is deficient of or not able to absorb properly.
PSYCHOTHERAPY
Psychotherapy can help by introducing different perspectives about past emotional issues. This can help clear out negative emotions that have been stuck for years. Psychotherapy can also help a person feel heard, an important step in healing.
MEDICATION MANAGEMENT
While I do believe in the benefits of medication when necessary, I am also Ia proponent of finding alternate solutions of treatment if medications are not required. I am dedicated to finding the cause of symptoms you may be experiencing, and finding a solution to help each patient with an individualized treatment plan.
